Seymour Staffing has a direct hire job opportunity for an ELECTRONICS MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN with a manufacturing company located in KERNERSVILLE, NC.
Job Description:
Seymour Staffing is seeking an Electronics Maintenance Technician to join the team at our client’s manufacturing facility in Kernersville, NC. Successful applicants will be responsible for Electronic and Electrical Equipment to ensure a downtime free performance in production, which includes planning and leading the developments, execution and completion of electrical projects and start-up of new or modified production equipment. Provide Maintenance Electricians/Mechanics support in electrical and PLC troubleshooting as well as training such. Works with Maintenance Manager, Production Manager and Supervisors for more efficient production, suggests and implements procedural changes. Assists with preventive Maintenance Programs or any other project assignments. Daily activities include but are not limited to completing daily repairs and/or projects as assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.   • Has hands on capabilities which includes periodically bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, crawling, climbing ladders, moving and lifting heavy objects
  • Able to stand or walk for up to 3/4 of the day
  • Able to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Willing to adapt to changing plans and unscheduled events and irregular hours
  • Willingness to work overtime
  • Able to work in a production environment (non-air conditioned)
  • Able to work in Metal Manufacturing (loud and noisy)
  • Able to work near moving mechanical parts that cause vibration
  • Able to work in high, precarious places
  • Accepts risk of electrical shock
  • Able to wear personal protection equipment (required)
  • Has ownership of Electronic Equipment and stay current on the latest Maintenance and repairs techniques
  • Able to provide technical expertise and guidance to production for application, selection/specification, installation, operation and maintenance of electronics, automation equipment and systems
  • Capabilities in planning, prioritizing and managing multiple work activities simultaneously.
  • Capable of providing leadership to the electrical and automation aspects of the design, start up and operation of the assets and work in a team environment to support business objectives
  • Mentors entry-level Maintenance Technicians to develop their technical skills, especially but not limited with PLC’s (Siemens Step7 & Portal, Allen Bradley, B&R and Saia)
  • Assists with repairs and troubleshooting for maintenance technician
  • Performs Safety checks (such as Lock out/Tag out)
  • Understands and adherers to Company policies and procedures
  • Possesses strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement
  • Keeps a neat and clean work zone (5S)
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Follows company standards and safety regulations, identifies unsafe conditions and make corrections when appropriate
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing PLC installation, programming and troubleshooting, Siemens Step7 & Portal, Allen Bradley, Saia, B&R, Omron, and Yaskawa, Rexroth Drives (preferred)
  • Experience in Preventive Maintenance Programs
  • Has strong mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic background
  • Experienced in Project Management
  • Has an Associate Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (preferred)
